On this page we will be sharing the stories of our students that had to put their training in Krav Maga in to practice.
My Story
Our very first testimony comes from Jade…..
When Krav saved my life….
I was quite used to driving to London for business and parking on the outskirts and jumping on the tube to get into Central London, but this day I was running late and I parked up in a location that I wasn’t familiar with, and off I went to my meetings.
Several hours later I returned to my car. Unfortunately the place I had parked was semi-industrial and there wasn’t anyone around. It was dark and it was raining. The sense of urgency was there to get home, and I suddenly realised how vulnerable I was.
I was still some distance away from my car when I noticed a man walking towards me, he was wearing all black and he had his hood up. I decided to cross over the road and he mirrored me. Sheer terror gripped me, my inner voice told me I was in trouble. I knew with every fibre of my body that he was going to attack me. As he got closer I felt a rising panic, I froze, I didn’t know what to do. I heard my Instructor’s voice in my ear, shouting at me “Put your hands up and tell him to f***k off”.
I screamed as loud as I could “F***k off, f***k off, f**k off”.
I decided at that moment that if my voice didn’t work and he was going to attack me I was going to rip him to pieces, I was going to fight like my life depended on it, because it did. At this he recoiled back, turned and ran away.
My Instructor always told me to listen to your gut, and if you believed you were in danger you must act. One of your defences can be the use of your voice, but if that fails you must be prepared to fight, and to win at all costs. I learned several important lessons that day, and this is why I continue to train in Krav Maga.
